Research at the Optical Science Lab

As one of the freshmen chosen to participate Northeastern's Gordon Scholars program, I became a part of the research team at the Optical Science Lab on campus. I re-familiarized myself with confocal microscopy systems, and used MATLAB to correct images taken by the detector. I helped prove that high-powered LEDs can be used as a cheaper, safer alternative to lasers in such applications. My main take away was getting hands-on experience working with galvos, beam splitters, and lenses.
